For the students majoring in Hospitality Management, they will have internships for the third and fifth semester during the four years’ study for the Bachelor Degree, one of which is operational internship and the other is management internship. Therefore, every year since 2010, Beijing Hospitality Institute holds at least one Internship Work Fair in campus.
Interview for Internship and Branded Class
During the open week in early November in 2011, representatives from more than 80 hotels and enterprises came to BHI and held internship interview.
BHI signs "Branded Class" agreements with outstanding hotel management groups. Senior managers from these hotel groups are invited to school as guest lecturers of those classes.
Different from the former Internship Work Fair of last year, 2011 open week’s job fair was mostly organized by student- volunteers with the guidance and suggestions from teachers. Their performs were highly appraised by the employers and each student got three offers on average.
Cooperation Partners
BHI students are required to take two internships in hotels during the third and sixth semesters, each for half a year and worth 9 credits. These internships can help students enter a "quasi-work" state. BHI has cooperated with 14 hotel groups, almost 90 hotels for students' internship.
