Promoting Employment through Competition | BHI Successfully Held the On-Campus Selection Contest for the Third National College Student Career Planning Competition

In order to thoroughly implement the national decisions and deployments regarding the employment of college graduates, fully realize the purpose of “promoting learning, teaching, and employment through competitions”, guide students to establish correct views on becoming talented individuals, choosing careers, and scientifically planning their careers, and enhance their core competitiveness in employment, Beijing Hospitality Institute held the on-campus selection contest for the Third National College Student Career Planning Competition on December 9th.
Part.01 Professional Judges Provided Support and Guidance
To ensure the professionalism, authority, and fairness of the competition, the contest specially invited Ma Juan, General Manager of the Human Resources Center of First Moma Asset Management (Beijing) Co., Ltd., and Director of the Student Employment Service Office of the Human Resources Branch of the China Business Enterprise Management Association, Shi Jingying, Director of the Career Center of BHI, She Lirong, Director of the Human Resources Management Office, Liu Yufeng, a teacher from the Hotel Industry Research Center, as well as Huang Yiyun, a student majoring in Human Resource Management from the Class 2022, who won the silver medal in the Beijing regional competition of the Second National College Student Career Planning Competition, to serve as judges for this competition.
Guo Ruihuan,Director of the Business Development Department of BHI,attended the competition and delivered a speech. The contest was co-hosted by Wang Meiling, a teacher from the Career Center, and He Mutong, a student majoring in Human Resource Management from the Class 2023 .
Part.02 Double-track Selection Contest Kicked Off
The competition is divided into two tracks: the Growth Track and the Employment Track. Since its inception, it has received enthusiastic responses from students across the entire college, with a total of 383 students signing up to participate. Among them, 273 are in the Growth Track and 110 are in the Employment Track. After preliminary selection and recommendation by various offices of all majors, 13 outstanding contestants stood out and advanced to the school-level selection contest. These include 11 from the Growth Track and 2 from the Employment Track, who would compete for higher-level competition qualifications.
Part.03 Professional Planning Unfolded Youthful Dreams
In the presentation segment of the Growth Track , contestants from different majors such as hotel management, human resource management, financial management, and health service and management took the stage one by one. They delivered clear and passionate thematic presentations centered around self-awareness, career exploration, goal setting, action paths, and evaluation and adjustment. Some aspired to become outstanding managers in the hotel industry, some planned to become professional consultants in the field of human resources, and some aimed for positions in finance and banking. They showcased the solid planning and youthful dreams of BHI students, which are grounded in their majors and looking to the future.
The contestants in the Employment Track elaborated on their competencies, development potential, and job search preparations with their internship experiences and focuses on specific job positions.
Part.04: Intense Competition Leaded to Excellent Results
After each contestant’s presentation, the judges posed targeted questions and provided comments on various aspects such as the feasibility of their plans, industry understanding, ability matching, and potential challenges. They also offered numerous valuable and pertinent suggestions, leading to a vibrant and engaging interaction, where ideas collided continuously.
After nearly three hours of intense competition and rigorous and professional evaluation by the judges, the first, second, and third prizes as well as the excellence award in the Growth Track, and the first and second prizes in the Employment Track were finally determined.

Part.05: Guide Career Development through Planning
Guo Ruihuan, the Director of the Business Development Department, first expressed her gratitude in her speech to the event organizers, judges, and all teachers and students. She pointed out that the theme of this competition, “Building dreams for youth with lofty aspirations; Planning for take-off with the guiding of future career” is highly aligned with the BHI’s educational philosophy of “internationalized and application-oriented education.” and career planning is a crucial step for students to transform their professional knowledge into career competitiveness. She emphasized that the hotel and pan-service industries are booming, and their job demand growth in the next five years is expected to exceed 50% of the national average, with new fields continuously emerging. This competition aims to guide students to grasp industry trends and clarify career positioning; BHI will also support students in honing their comprehensive abilities and expanding their international horizons through platforms such as international courses and overseas projects. Finally, she encouraged all students to lead their career development with clear planning and write a wonderful life in the vast world of the industry.The on-campus selection contest of this career planning competition not only provided students with a valuable platform to showcase themselves, examine their futures, and exchange learning experiences, but also served as a vivid and profound practical lesson in their career education. It effectively stimulated students’ awareness of career planning, enhanced their job-seeking skills and comprehensive qualities, and also served as a concentrated test and demonstration of BHI’s achievements in career education and employment guidance. BHI will continue to take such competitions as opportunities to continuously deepen educational and teaching reforms, strengthen employment guidance services, and fully assist every student in realizing their life ideals, so that they can shine brightly on the future career stage.
