BHI students attended 7th YHS in EHL , communicated with global hospitality industry elites

On16th March, the 7th Edition of the Young Hoteliers Summit 2016 started at the EHL and warmly welcomed over 80 motivated delegates , who came from all over the world. The topic of the summit was “Technology” which appealed to many world-renown universities, including Cornell University, as well as The University of Oxford. BHI students Han Yu & Ning Chen, who came from 2012 and 2013 intakes respectively, attended the YHS on behalf of Beijing Hospitality Institute.

Launching with an exceptional Opening Ceremony, the two first days of the YHS included keynote presentations, panel discussion , workshop, focus group, networking, led and held by representatives of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Dorchester Collection, DBRC Continental, Expedia, FRHI and The Leading Hotels of the World. Nearly 20 distinguished hospitality leaders from recognized companies all over the world shared their one of a kind experience to the delegates.

Panel discussion & challenge

Delegates discussed actively in the Q&A , one of the parts of panel discussion. The panelists shared their own ideas & opinions as well as the trend of hotels to the delegates, which helped delegates know more about the hospitality. In the Challenge section , Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts announced the challenge “ Create game-changing career paths that go from University to G.M in nine years.” With the creative ideas and awesome group work , Ning Chen and his team obtained the “Runner up” awards.

“It is a great honor for me to attend the Young Hoteliers Summit in EHL on the behalf of my school, because it allowed me to learn and communicate with excellent delegates from all over the world. It was also a great challenge for us to cooperate with one other well because of limitation of time.

Young Hoteliers Summit is a platform that provides the students , who have passion in the hospitality, with opportunities to learn and communicate with the distinguished hospitality leaders from the industry. EHL has already held 6 editions before and BHI sends the students to attend the summit since the 2nd edition of Young Hoteliers Summit.

Inspired by Young Hoteliers Summit in EHL, the students in Beijing Hospitality Institute established the student organization “ Hotelier” in 2011. After successfully signing an agreement with YHS headquarters, BHI students hosted the 1st edition of Young Hoteliers Summit Asia on in 2011 from 23rd to 25th of October (Young Hoteliers Summit Asia, referred to “YHS Asia”)
