2024 FHS: Breaking the Ice
In order to build a high-end platform for young students to cooperate, communicate and dialogue, and allow young people from all over the hotel industry to gather together and provide an opportunity to discover talents for the booming hotel industry, BHI students independently planned, organized and held the 2024 Future Hoteliers Summit (FHS).
On October 24, the 2024 Future Hoteliers Summit officially kicked off. In order to deepen the understanding between the participants from different universities and enhance the team bonding and tacit understanding, the organizing committee organized a unique ice-breaking activity for the participants.
At the same time, in order to make the future leaders of the hotel industry enhance their understanding of luxury hotels, the organizing committee also organized the participants to visit the Waldorf Astoria Hotel Beijing and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Wangfujing respectively.
Participants "strolled through Beijing" together to enjoy the elegant style of Beijing and experience the operation style of luxury hotels.
Participants were divided into two groups respectively visited the Waldorf Astoria Hotel Beijing, from the front office, catering, rooms, public area, banquet hall, learning about the hotel's history of development, corporate culture, operational characteristics as well as the various environmental protection concepts and environmental protection methods, so as to provide more reference cases for their proposals for the next day's competition.
After the morning session, the students came to the Glassroom of CHAO, Sanlitun, where they had a team ice-breaking activity. CHAO, Sanlitun has its own thinking and unique practices in low carbon environmental protection. The concept of low carbon environmental protection carried out throughout the process gave students a deeper understanding of the theme of this competition.
Zhang Bin introduced the corporate culture and management philosophy of CHAO, Sanlitun, and shared with the participants the hotel's related measures in energy conservation and emission reduction and innovative measures in low carbon environmental protection. He pointed out that the Glassroom where the students are located was natural lighted, low-carbon and environment-friendly, with superimposed light and shadow effects to save energy.
Zhang bin also shared many hotel's innovations in environmental protection, for example, since opening, CHAO had been using bamboo room cards; all plastic products visible in the rooms were biodegradable materials; in catering, the food was packaged with bamboo knives, spoons and forks, so that customers can recycle them. He hoped that everyone could share the green and low-carbon carbon approach of CHAO, and he also looked forward to the advice from young future leaders. Finally, Zhang Bin pointed out that CHAO wants to be itself, and also wants to be a hotel with Chinese spirit.
The colorful activities enabled the participants to deepen their understanding of each other, improve the tacit understanding of the team, and have a more intuitive and profound understanding of the low-carbon operation of the hotels, which laid a solid foundation for the smooth progress of the later competition.
