BHI students of grade 2021 successfully completed their second internship in this summer vacation, and returned triumphantly!
Recently, Dr. Gao Songtao, president of BHI have received a letter of thanks from the China Tourist Hotel Association. In the letter, high praise and affirmation was given to the intern Guo Zi’ao. The employer regarded him as an excellent representative of BHI interns, representing the college’s correct policy of operation and the way of nurturing and teaching. Guo Zi'ao's excellent work in the association for seven months also reflects the college's philosophy. The 5H philosophy had been rooted in his heart.

Q: I believe many students are curious about the internship environment of China Tourist Hotel Association. Can you share it with us?
A: It is A great honor for me to complete my second internship in China Tourist Hotel Association. I have been working with the big family of the association for more than half a year, and I gradually integrated into it. Every time I mentioned the association, I felt that I was surrounded by warmth. I remember the day I joined, the office was full of positive atmosphere, just like thriving green plants. While working, they would provide guidance to my work. Every time I ask questions, colleagues would immediately help me, which let me intuitively felt the care and love. Under the leadership of Secretary General Xin Tao, this big family is tightly cohesive, and I am honored to be able to join and contribute to it. In such an environment rich in positive work attitude and optimistic work mindset, I am even more determined to take a big step forward in the hotel industry.
Q: Which department are you working in? Please describe the your main job.
A: I mainly assist the secretariat office in organizing the meeting minutes and documents. At the same time, I also cooperate with the Star Appraisal Office for the star rating and review of five-star hotels. During the internship, I am honored to participate in the related organization work of "the ninth Third Council Expansion Meeting of China Tourist Hotel Association", "Connexion Shenzhen 2024" and "the 21st China Hotel Group Development Conference" successively.
Q: Are there any special tasks that impressed you?
A: I think working in the association requires a sense of responsibility and patience to empower the hotel industry. What impressed me most was to participate in the 21st China Hotel Group Development Conference, which was also the last time to participate in the large-scale conference during my internship. This work was a challenge for me, which gave me a better understanding of the development of the industry, and saw the unique understanding of many industry predecessors for the hotel industry. Because I was already familiar with the process of organizing meetings , I was able to work with my team more smoothly, so I have completed more work content and the work process is more handy. These days and nights of "deep cultivation" in the hotel industry, will always be the best "golden memories" in my heart.
Q: We all know that it is very important to deal with colleagues and bosses at work. Can you describe the interpersonal environment of the association?
A: Actually, there were all kinds of worries when I first came here, but the moment I met Secretary General Xin, those worries immediately disappeared. Now I still remember the first word xin always said to me, she told me not to be nervous and take time, and everyone will become my very good friends. The fact is that we were good friends in daily life, and we became powerful comrades at work. Of course, I also try to follow their footsteps. Such communication provided me with the motivation to work hard, and the attitude of working hard also made everyone give me more trust and support in the communication, forming a virtuous circle.
02 Internship harvest —— Think in work, grow in thinking
Q: You have been an intern for 7 months and were highly evaluated by the leaders of the association. I believe you must have gained a lot. Could you briefly share your harvest with us?
A: Special thanks to Secretary General Xin, Deputy Secretary General Li and Deputy Secretary General Zhang for their tolerance and cultivation. After the internship, my the eyesight, insight and competencies have been greatly improved. Having participated in the three conferences let me have a different perspective of thinking about the industry and the current development of the hotel industry. In the perspective of daily work, I know how to manage my time, how to cooperate with team members, and how to conduct effective communication. More importantly, in the training meetings, I improved my ability of independent learning, which played a key role in my later work. Of course, life is not always a smooth ride, looking for patterns in the problem has also exercised my ability to resist pressure. Seven months have passed by in a flash. Although I have gained a lot, there are still many aspects that I need to continue to learn and improve. Thank BHI for giving me such an opportunity to study and work in the association. Once again, I would like to thank Secretary General Xin for her recognition of my work.
Q: As an excellent intern, do you have any advice for younger students?
A: No matter where you aim in the future, don't give yourself too much pressure. Everyone has difficult times, and only when get through them, you will find what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. You have to believe that everything will be better. These are the words that have always inspired me, and I hope you can always be full of positive energy! Cheer up!
