International Exchange | Review and Prospect of Cooperation between Beijing Hospitality Institute and Swiss Education Group
In September 2022, Hu Rongming, cooperation director of Swiss Education Group, Zheng Guanghua, regional Director of Swiss Education Group visited BHI. Since then, more than 40 BHI students applied for master's programs in the four institutions of SEG Group.

Dr. Paola Ossola, professor of Cesar Ritz College Switzerland (CRCS), a subsidiary of SEG, was invited to serve as a judge on the 2023 Future Hoteliers Summit (FHS). At the same time, Dr. Ossola also gave a wonderful lecture on the topic of Sustainable Development of Tourism to the BHI teachers and students, deeply discussed the theory of barrier-free tourism, and shared the latest research results of interacting with Alzheimer's patients, showing the cutting-edge development trend of tourism in meeting groups with special needs.

Professor Ben Smith from HIM Hotel Institute Montreux, a subsidiary of SEG, gave an academic lecture on Exploring the Customer Experience of the Luxury World.
From November 4 to November 13, 2023, the SEG Study Tour Program attracted a total of 30 BHI students to attend. From 18-27 April 2024, 25 BHI students attended the SEG Study Tour Program. Through a series of research activities, the students have improved their cross-cultural communication skills, felt the charm of foreign cultures, and benefited a lot from this unique trip.

Recently, He Jianhui, head of SEG Parntership Affairs in China, and Du Shan, head of SEG North China Area, visited BHI. Guo Ruihuan, director of BHI Business Development Department, Wang Ning, manager of teaching Hotel participated in the discussion, and the two sides discussed the in-depth cooperation mode in the future. Guo reviewed the history of cooperation between the two sides and emphasized that BHI builds an international curriculum system by introducing the advanced Swiss education model, and the four core advantages were highly compatible with the SEG education concept.
He Jianhui said that two foreign professor lectures would be provided in this semester, and BHI teachers and students will go to SEG in November to carry out international research and teacher exchange activities to promote the integration of academic and practice. In the future, the two sides will introduce more short-term research projects, customized training courses, and deepen exchanges among students, teachers and academia, so as to create a new model of international education cooperation.
On October 8,2024, Professor Andrea Leuenberger from the Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS) was invited to give a lecture for BHI International Class. Prof. Andrea has a Swiss hospitality MBA and UK Education MA, responsible for the masters and MBA programs in SHMS, and has 20 years of hospitality management experience, focusing on training and talent development.
In the lecture, Professor Andrea focused on the core role of multiple culture in hotel management, and combined with practical cases and interactive links to explain how to effectively communicate and cooperate in cultural differences. She encouraged students to view cultural differences with an open mind as an important asset in career development, and cited research findings to emphasize the power of intercultural communication for the transformation of the hotel industry.
Professor Andrea pointed out that cultural differences are an opportunity for service improvement, and understanding and respecting different cultures can enhance the international competitiveness of hotels. The lecture was warmly received, and the students said that they benefited a lot, and stimulated their creativity and thinking about the future hotel management work. The college will continue to invite international scholars to give lectures to expand students' horizons and improve their professional quality.
BHI's partnership with SEG goes far beyond that. In the future, the two sides will jointly introduce more short-term research projects, customized training courses, and enrich the study paths, so as to provide more diversified and flexible learning paths for BHI students. At the same time, the two sides will deepen two-way exchanges among students, teachers, academic and other levels, jointly create a new model of international education cooperation, and achieve a good situation of mutual benefit and joint progress.
