Unique Cultivation-Oriented Campus Culture

BHI has cultivated a professionalism-oriented campus culture, which is the cornerstone of the school’s development and the fertile ground for students’ development. BHI actively promotes the “5H” educational philosophy: Hand (practical skills), Head (brainpower), Heart (sincerity), Health (physical and mental well-being), and Happiness. 5H training has covered all the faculty and students of BHI comprehensively, guiding them to live, work and study in a healthy, happy, and balanced manner in BHI.

By enhancing moral cultivation, social responsibility, and self-management skills, students not only make academic progress but also develop an elegant, vibrant attitude towards life. Upon invitation from Sina Weibo, Mrs Guo Ruihuan and Mrs Sun Dongliang participated in a thematic interview titled “The Power of Education,” where they shared achievements of BHI in talent cultivation, campus culture, internship, employment, and educational ideals from multiple perspectives.

Original Educational Aspirations

Mrs Guo shared her original aspirations for engaging in higher education of hospitality management. She noted that with the rapid development of the tourism industry, the hotel and broader service sectors require a large influx of new talents. Vocational education plays a crucial role in one’s early career planning. BHI deeply understands the industry’s pain points and challenges for talent development, trying to foster industry-specific professionals. The unique talent cultivation model of BHI has profoundly attracted her. When she witnessed that some students reached top management positions in the industry as general mangers, just like what she once did, she truly feels proud.

Over 60% of the faculty of BHI are dual-qualified teachers with both academic and industry backgrounds. These teachers demonstrate high enthusiasm and professionalism. They provide attentive guidance during students’ internships with their rich experience and provide favorable support to students’ employment with their extensive industry resources. Overall, with the idea of cultivating talents for the hotel industry, they are committed to proving services for students and  helping students to have smoother career paths in the future.

Mrs Guo Ruihuan pointed out particularly that hospitality management is professional field with huge potentials. This major can not only cultivate professional talents for hotels, but also offer students more opportunities for their career development. Only those who have worked in the hotel industry and devoted themselves to education can find the sense of values and belonging. The responsibility of BHI teachers is to develop real talents with professional skills and qualities for the hotel industry, and this is the embodiment of common responsibility of BHI teachers.

Advice on Application

Mrs. Sun Dongliang shared admission tips with potential students and their parents, emphasizing that students should choose majors that suit themselves. For general undergraduate students, application-oriented majors are more suitable for them based on their scores in the college entrance examination. Hospitality management majors will be senior management personnel of hotels and pan-service industry, and will have more internship and employment opportunities to join top-tier companies of the industries, enjoying more opportunities and better employment quality.
