Notice on teaching arrangements during NCP outbreak control period in the second semester of the 2019-2020 academic year

    Warm greetings from BHI! In the critical period of NCP outbreak, doing our own thing well, protecting ourselves and others is to make our own contribution to the outbreak control. According to related document requirements of MOE and Beijing Municipal Education Commission, and overall arrangements of BHI, in order to maintain the normal teaching order and ensure the teaching progress, we hereby inform you of the relevant teaching work plan as follows.

    The first is about the theory courses. In this semester there are 62 teaching classes in total, including 14 classes in grade 2019, 24 classes in grade 2018 and 24 classes in grade 2016. 

    The first phase is first eight teaching weeks from 24th February to 19th April. 

    The students who are from the first 14 classes in grade 2019 and the first 24 classes in grade 2018 log in Zhihuishu platform to learn the courses and have the exams online. The teachers also do the tutoring online. PE course will be conducted in the form of task assignment, online instruction and outcome submission. 

    The students who are from the first 24 classes in grade 2016 have 18 elective professional courses. The teachers use Ketangpai platform to do distance teaching and send learning requirements and assessment requirements. Students learn online and teachers do coaching and Q&A online.

    BHI provides 90 elective public courses of Zhihuishu platform. The students choose the courses depending on your hobbies and needs, and finish online learning and exam.

    The second phase is from the ninth teaching week to the end of outbreak.

    From 20th April all students log in Ketangpai platform to learn as scheduled. All teachers also use Ketangpai platform to teach and coach. All students go back to BHI at the end of outbreak. Physique lesson, ERP Experimental Course，Coffee Roasting and Producing， Wine & Cigar，Oral Hotel English will be open after the outbreak ends. 

    The second is about the practical courses. In this semester there are 16 teaching classes which are the last 15 classes in grade 2019.

    The first phase is first four teaching weeks from 24th February to 22th March. 

    The students log in Zhihuishu platform to learn the courses and have the exams online. The teachers also do the tutoring online. BHI English teachers will open online classes of Hotel Comprehensive English. All students kindly join in Ketangpai designated classes as attachment which was sent before. BHI provides 90 elective public courses of Zhihuishu platform. The students choose the courses depending on your hobbies and needs, and finish online learning and exam. The students who have practical courses should do more sports. PE teachers will provide online physical exercise guide through Ketangpai class and the students can participate in as you wish.

    The second phase is from 5th to 8th teaching week which is from 23rd March to 19th April. 

    All students log in Ketangpai platform to learn as scheduled. All teachers also use Ketangpai platform to teach and coach the students to finish the learning of Housekeeping, Food Production, F&B Service and Hotel Financial Operation courses.

    The third phase is from 20th April to the end of this semester. 

    The students are expected to return to BHI and finish learning of Housekeeping, Food Production, F&B Service and Hotel Financial Operation courses.

    Instructions: If the outbreak still not ends by 20th April, the students need to learn just stated in the second phase.

    The third is about internship of grade 2017. In this semester there are 24 classes in grade 2017 which need to do internship.

    The students who have already started the internship could decide if go on according to the situation of the city and the company. If the students decide to end the internship, Career center is responsible for contacting with the company and assisting with related procedures. The following arrangements are the same for the students who postponed starting the internship.

    The students who are on the job should strictly report their own health situation every day to the internship supervising teacher. Career center designate one person to report the epidemic situation every day. The students need to hand on report and certificate according to the rules and requirements.

    The fourth is about graduation project/thesis. The students finish the assignments as scheduled. The advisor will coach the students via internet, phone and email etc. The students should give full play to their initiative to make sure finish the project/thesis on time. The form of graduation defense is determined according to the change of epidemic situation.
