International Exchange | Representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan and the“Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Visited BHI
On August 5th, representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan and a delegation from the“Silk Road”International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage (hereinafter referred to as the delegation) paid a friendly visit to the BHI. Xu Longyang, dean of Academic Affairs Department, Yu Weimin, deputy dean, Wang Shujiao, director of Administration Department, Qi Na, director of Education Training Center, Wu Qiongyao, deputy director of Hotel Industry Research Center, Ma Xingdong, director of International Education Office, Hu Xiuying, director of International Exchange Center, Li Wu, director of College-Enterprise Cooperation Center, and relevant teachers attended the reception.

At first, the two sides had a discussion at the Swiss Bar in the Training Hotel. Xu Longyang warmly welcomed the arrival of the delegation and introduced the characteristics and major construction of BHI. He stated that BHI has always been committed to cultivating high-quality hotel management talents and maintains good cooperative relationships with well-known hotel groups and educational institutions around the world. Uzbekistan is the Pearl of Central Asia in the Silk Road Economic Belt, and the“Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage is a successful case of cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. He hopes that this visit deepen mutual understanding between BHI and the“Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, enhance mutual friendship, and bring more cooperation opportunities jointly to explore teacher and student exchanges, major co-construction, internship and practical training. Ma Xingdong introduced the international exchange situation of BHI and the current status of the career development of BHI alumni.
Matkarimov Jakhongir Shamuratovich, deputy director of the Education and Science Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan, expressed gratitude for the warm reception from BHI, and appreciated the educational achievements and philosophy of BHI. He introduced the educational situation of the“Silk Road”International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and its important role in the upcoming 2023 United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) conference. He expressed his expectation that the“Silk Road”International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and BHI can cooperate in major construction and other aspects, jointly enhancing the education level and international influence of both sides. He also warmly invited BHI teachers and students to participate in the 2023 United Nations World Tourism Organization Conference held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan in October.

After the talk, Yu Weimin and other teachers also led the delegation to visit the characteristic practical teaching sites of BHI, providing them with a detailed introduction about the curriculum, facilities and equipment of teaching sites such as Chinese and Western restaurants, multifunctional banquet hall, Ruikang Caring Center, wine tasting room, and Regale Restaurant. The delegation members highly praised the teaching equipment and environment of BHI, and expressed their agreement with the teaching mode and philosophy of BHI.
This visit is the first contact between the“Silk Road”International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and BHI, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two sides. Both sides expressed that they will actively explore the possibility of cooperation in teacher visits, student exchanges, and course co-construction, in order to build a bridge for the development of hotels, tourism, culture and education in the two countries and the two schools.
